NEA Task 2 : Research into Bauer

 

Bauer Media Group are a German multimedia Conglomerate who are based in Hamburg Germany, they are owned by Yvonne Bauer and the company has been in the family for many years through 5 generations of the Bauer family. They are one of the oldest Multimedia conglomerates as they were founded around 1875 which, being 147 years ago, makes them an extremely old company. As well as being a German based company they also operate in 13 different countries across 3 different continents which has further allowed them to expand their sales to roughly £2.1 billion which makes them a highly profitable company who make lots of profit each year.

Bauer Media Group are also a very large company with a large collection of publications and different media companies who allow them to keep making profit under their name, Bauer Media Group own more than 400 publications, more than 100 digital products and more than 100 radio stations which shows the large scale of the company as they have so many businesses who are able to operate and make them profit. Bauer Media Group’s large scale as a company can also be shown as they have more than 16,000 employees across the 13 countries that they operate in, which allows Bauer Media Group to show the large scale at which their business operates at. Furthermore, by owning more than 400 publications this has allowed Bauer Media Group to build an audience of over 200 million people worldwide who view different media products all owned by Bauer Media Group.

Some of Bauer Media Group’s brands include KISS FM UK and Magic which are both radios operating on a large scale across the United Kingdom along with more brands. They also operate across multiple markets including personal finance, insurance, mortgages and more which has allowed them to have 25% annual growth. They also separate their audio company for radios and their publishing companies into two as they have Bauer Publishing UK who are the biggest selling magazine publisher, and they also have Bauer Audio who are Europe’s leading digital commercial radio broadcaster.
